- I agree with him on many things and was hoping he’d be a good presidential candidate.
- However, for the Republican primaries, I think Ron Paul is a far better option. Johnson quickly made his candidacy about a single, non-marketable (to the average Republican) issue: Pot. Also, his campaign was not well-run, even with the benefit of hindsight on Ron Paul’s 2008 campaign. Amateur level mistakes — like failing to announce campaign events to the public. One time I got a Johnson campaign email which they accidentally sent with no text in it at all.
- Next, Johnson is not so consistently against war, which I really don’t like.
- Finally, he should have run for the open New Mexico seat in the U.S. Senate instead.
