Dear Bonnie,
coeus:
For some reason, I cannot access your Ask Box (Tumblr is going haywire right now), so I will just leave this here.
This is probably going to be the silliest question you have ever gotten, to which you will probably reply “Whaaaaaaat?!” But for the sake of argument, bear with me.
I showed a friend of mine the Young Americans for Liberty site, and his initial reaction was this: “Why are...

Embarrassing:
After nearly 5 years of driving stick shift, I think I stalled at least 4 times trying to leave the mechanics’ after getting my clutch replaced today. Apparently I was compensating for faulty hardware a lot.
On a related note, I (snobbishly, I know) give slightly less credence to complaints about gas prices coming from people who drive automatics. Also SUVs.

Maybe Glenn Beck is God’s way of punishing mankind... →
Re: This bizarre theology from Mr. Beck.
A point of clarification: Some seem to think my implication is that we should never use disasters to evaluate our method of doing things and improve it.
On the contrary, my implication is rather that this is a funny quip and Beck’s statements are neither biblical nor something I wish to have representing Christianity to the world at large.

Let’s focus on Rhode Island for a moment…
Let’s just suppose that hypothetically, you get pulled over with eight ounces of marijuana in your car. You’re 18 years old. It’s your first offense in Rhode Island, and you plea bargain down to avoid prison time. You’re sentenced to five years of supervised probation.
Six years later, things are better, you’re done...

Judge Nap a possible replacement for Glenn Beck? →
That would indeed be awesome. Judge Napolitano has been a professor of constitutional law and is far better on issues of foreign policy and civil liberties than Beck has ever dreamed of being.

Naming Laws in Sweden →
The Naming law in Sweden is a law in Sweden which requires approval of the names given to Swedish children. The law was enacted in 1982, primarily in order to prevent non-noble families from giving their children the names of noble families. The Swedish Tax Agency administers the registration of names in Sweden.
Seriously?

On the contrary, this applies quite as much to WW2 as it does to any other war.
Yes, it is quite true that, in America’s case, at least, most of the destruction was elsewhere. The problem, though, is that the war economy is not true economic growth; it is (and I cannot emphasize this enough) merely shuffling money around with a hidden net loss.
